the universe is a doughnut

I read a theory that the shape of our universe is a doughnut. So the longer and deeper you peer into the deepest reaches of the universe, because space-time is curved, you're just looking at your own butt. I love the old saying "the longer you stare into the abyss, the more the abyss stares back". However, with this new theory, I believe the saying should be: the more you stare into the abyss, the more you're just looking at your own ass... and sometimes it farts.
